Swaps

Instant No Batcher Swaps

Swaps on Saturn Swap do not use a central batcher, meaning transactions are much more efficient then Swaps on other DEXs.

This order book no batcher model allows trades to be executed instantly in 1 transaction where the wallet shows the exact amount of tokens you are buying and selling.

An instant and deterministic swap transaction example using the Nami Wallet.

How Do Swaps Work?

When a user makes a trade, they spend one of the UTXOs that are in the smart contract. These UTXOs are optimally selected using Saturn Swap's advanced open source Coin Selection Algorithm.

This algorithm enables some of the most optimized transaction sizes on the entire blockchain, allowing the protocol to hit transactions speeds that are not possible on batcher DEXs.

Each Saturn Swap trade spends 1 or more Unspent Transaction Outputs (UTXOs) in the swap Smart Contract. A UTXO on Cardano contains the assets being traded as well as the data indicating how much the assets should be traded for.

The UTXO are placed onto the blockchain and into the smart contract by users that are placing limit orders or by liquidity contracts.
